This describes how the first version of RentYard works. The operator’s contact information is available on the Help page.

Accounts and profiles

When connected, Supabase Auth manages email addresses, authentication and password protection. Your email address is not displayed on your public profile. The application stores the profile information and lifestyle preferences you choose to enter.

Turning on “Show my profile in Buddy-Up” makes that profile discoverable. You can turn discovery off. Your name and profile remain accessible to people in your existing conversations and Buddy-Up groups so those connections can continue.

Listings and photos

Active listings and their photos are public. Avoid putting documents, contact details or other information you do not want public into descriptions and photos. This marketplace does not request passports, immigration documents or background-check information.

Conversations and groups

Messages are accessible through the application to the conversation’s participants. Buddy-Up groups are accessible to invited and accepted group members. Messages are stored in Supabase; this version does not provide end-to-end encryption. Authorised project administrators can access stored data to operate the service.

Matching

Matching compares selected lifestyle preferences in the database. Private chat messages are not analysed for matching. You can change your preferences or stop appearing in Buddy-Up results.

Optional AI assistance

When you choose a writing, translation or tag suggestion tool, the text currently in that form is sent to a configured external AI provider. Providers may be Gemini, Groq or OpenRouter and its selected model provider. Failed requests can fall back to another configured provider, so the same text may be sent to more than one provider. Their processing terms apply. You can edit manually instead.

Browser storage

Connected accounts use Supabase authentication cookies to maintain your session. This build includes no advertising or third-party analytics trackers. The local preview uses browser storage as described above.

Access, correction and deletion

Edit your profile and listing information from your account. You can download account data from Account & data. Contact the operator for a complete export, account deletion or other data requests. Removing a listing from search does not erase existing conversations.

The operator must supply its identity, contact information and applicable retention arrangements before accepting real users.
